A Human Security Doctrine for Europe 
Report of the Study Group on Europe's Security Capabilities of the Centre for the Study of Global Governance, London Scool of Economics (LSE). The Study Group, convened by Professor Mary Kaldor and coordinated by the Centre, started work in the autumn of 2003. Its purpose is to think about Europe’s security needs from the ‘bottom-up’, in terms of actual experience and likely situations in which security capabilities might be required, rather than from an institutional or geo-political perspective. Human Security Network  The Human Security Network (HSN) is a group of countries that, at the level of Foreign Ministers, maintains dialogue on questions pertaining to human security. Trustnet: Risk Governance in Europe  Trustnet is an interdisciplinary European network involved in the field of Risk Governance, supported by the European Commission (DG RTD). The objective of Trustnet is to contribute to the quality of the decision-making processes within the governance of hazardous activities in Europe. Trustnet is assessing and diffusing emerging concepts and experiences (e.g. precautionary principle, pluralistic expertise, decentralisation of risk management) and innovative institutional arrangements (e.g. stakeholder participation, citizen conferences) that may enhance the quality, the legitimacy and the practicability of the decision-making processes on risk.
