| The University College of Maastricht presents a conference about the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals. Aim of this conference is to come up with specific solutions that will give the realization of the goals in six developing countries more hope.
The conference will be focussing on Niger, Afghanistan, Jamaica, South-Africa, Sudan and Pakistan. The opening lecture will be given by Rob Visser, vice-president of the Direction of Social and Institutional Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, about the content of the Millennium Development Goals, the challenges and possible solutions. Other activities are: an information fair presenting the current situation and problems of the Millennium Development Goals, workshops in which participants will discuss the situation of the MDGs, and a United Nations Model Meeting, in which findings of the conference will be presented and discussed.
